Still saying Thank You – stitch 309

Since I was given several jars of jams and such, I am making several bags. Using the potpourri yarn I’ve used before, I start with a simple circle base.

Round 1: 9 sc in a magic circle. Sl st to join. Pull the circle tight.

Round 2: ch1, 2 sc in each sc. 18 st. Sl st to join

Round 3: ch 1, *sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from * to start, sl st to join. 27 sc

Round 4: ch 1, *sc in 1st 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from * to start, sl st to join. 36 sc

Now to start the pattern. The main stitch is a version of a bobble. Here are the instructions for creating this bobble: (yo, insert hook in next st, yo, draw yarn through 1 loop) do this 3 times total in the same st, yo, draw through the 7 loops on the hook.

Round 5: ch 4 (counts as dc, ch1), sk st, *bobble in next st, ch1, sk st, repeat from * sl st to join with 3d ch of initial ch 4.

Round 6: ch 4 (counts as dc, ch1), *bobble in the ch 1 space b/w the first two bobbles, ch1, repeat from * sl st to join with 3d ch of initial ch 4.

Rounds 7 to 10: repeat round 6.

Round 11: ch1, sc in each st that is at the top of the bobble and in each ch-1 space – 36 sc

Round 12: ch1, sc in next 9 sc, 25 ch, skip 9 st, sc in next 9 sc, ch 25, skip 9 sc, sc to start of round. Sl st to join.

Round 13: ch1, sc in 1st st, sc in next 8 sc, sc in the 25 ch space. I got 25 sc, sc in next 9 sc, 25 sc in the ch 25 space  Sl st to join.

Fasten off and weave in any ends.
