Some more gift bags- patterns 28 and 4

I was going to see my friend the canner and I had a few more empty jars to return to her. So I needed to make some more gift bags. I can usually make these bags pretty quickly so here goes…

I used some green cotton yarn that I bought a while ago. Here is a photo of the yarn.

Like all these bags, I start by making a circular base. Make a magic circle with 6 sc in it. Sl st to join.

Row 1: Ch 1, 2sc in each st;  sl st to join (12 st).

Row 2: ch 1, *2sc in first st, sc in next sc, repeat from * sl st to join. (18 st)

Row 3:  ch 1, *2sc in first st, sc in each of the next 2 sc, repeat from * sl st to join. (24 st)

Now for the pattern.

Row 4: ch 1, sc in each st, sl st to join. (24 st)

Row 5: ch 4 (counts as dc ch1) skip next 2 st, *dc in each of next 2 st, ch 1, skip 1st, repeat from *, dc in last st, sl st to join.
Row 6: ch 1, sc in 1st st, sc around the whole row with a sc in each dc and in each ch1 space. Sl st to join (24 st)

Repeat rows 5 and 6 3more times or until you have it the height you want ending with row 6.

Ch1, sc in each of next 3 st. Ch 15, skip 6 st, sc in next 6 st, ch 15, skip 6 st, sc in next 3, sl stitch to join.

Final row: ch 1, sc in each st and 15 sc in the 15 ch spaces working all around. Sl st to join.

For the second bag, I used Lily Sugar ‘n Cream cotton yarn called Autumn Leaves (color 126179) and that same h-hook. It is a multi colored yarn with hues of various hues of brownish reds, brown, and greens. Here is a shot of the huge cone of yarn I bought:

This time my starting magic circle was only with 5 sc. Sl st to join.

Row 1: Ch 1, 2sc in each st; sl st to join (10 st).

Row 2: ch 1, *2sc in first st, sc in next sc, repeat from * sl st to join. (15 st)

Row 3: ch 1, *2sc in first st, sc in each of the next 2 sc, repeat from * sl st to join. (20 st)

Row 4: ch 1, *2sc in first st, sc in each of the next 3 sc, repeat from * sl st to join. (25 st)

Row 5: ch1 , sc in each st around (25 st) Sl St to join.

Row 6: ch 1, sc in first st, *ch 5, skip 3 st, sc, repeat from * until start and sl st to join.

Row 7:  ch 5 (counts as dc, ch 2), *sc in ch 5 space, ch 5, repeat from * until start, ch 2, dc’s in last sc of prior row. sl st to join.

Row 8: ch 1, sc in first st, *ch 5, skip 3 st, sc, repeat from * until start and sc in 3rd ch of turning chain at start of prior row. sl st to join

Row 9-10: repeat rows 7 & 8.

Row 11: ch 1, sc around putting st in each sc and 3 sc in each ch 5 space.

I ended up with 28 sc after this round.

Row 12: Ch1, sc in each of next 7 st. Ch 15, skip 7 st, sc in next 7 st, ch 15, skip 7 st, sl stitch to join

Row 13: ch 1, sc in each st and 15 sc in the 15 ch spaces working all around. Sl st to join.
