Simple Scarf – Pattern 71

This is another project that I finished months ago but had not posted.

I had a few skeins of Bernat Super Value acrylic yarn color Steel Blue Heather (No. 53014). I thought I would make an easy scarf that will be donated to the uKNITe Project.

I started with a foundation chain of 24 stitches using an h-hook.

Row 1: Ch4 (serves as tc), skip 1st st, dc in next 2 st, *tc in next 2 st, dc in next 2 st, repeat from *, end with tc. Turn

Row 2: Ch 5 (serves as dc, ch2), *dc in each of the 2 tc (skipping over 2 st), ch 2, repeat from *, end with dc. Turn

Row 3: Ch 4 (serves as tc), skip 1st st, *2dc in ch2 space, tc in each of next 2 st, repeat from * across, end with tc. Turn.

Repeat rows 2 and 3 for as long as you want the scarf to be. I made it about 60 inches long.

Ch2 (serves as hdc), skip next st, hdc across. Fasten off.

Make enough fringe so that you can knot 2 strands in each stitch.

Here are some shots of the finished product.
