If I only had something to hold a jar… (No. 215)

So I still have a few more gift bags to make in which these empty jars will be returned to my friend. Since this is the person who friend gave me the other yarn before, I thought I would use the same yarn as the bag that was in the prior post was made. This first jar uses the variegated yarn that had more pastel colors (Color C from that prior post). This jar was done using pattern Number 215.

Start off with a magic circle of 5 sc

Increase each row as your crochet around ending each row with a sl st until you  25 sc around (Rows 1 through 4)

Row 5: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in next st, *ch3, skip 3, dc in each of next 3 st, repeat from * however, when you get to the last set, it will only be dc in the last 2 st. sl st to join. Sl st to join.

Row 6: Ch 3 (counts as dc), skip 1st dc, dc in next st, *ch 3, sc in ch3 space, ch3, dc in next 3 dc, repeat from *, end with 2dc instead of 3. Sl st to join.

Row 7:  Ch 3 (counts as dc), skip 1st dc, dc in next st, *ch1, dc in ch3 chain, ch 2, dc in 2nd ch3 chain, ch 1, 3dctog in the 3dcs from the prior row, repeat from *, end with 2dctog instead of 3. Sl st to join.

Row 8: ch 4 (counts as dc’s ch1), *3dc in the 2 ch space (skipping over all st until you get to the ch3 space), ch3, repeat from * around, round will end with ch 1(not ch 3) and a dc. Sl st to join.

Row 9: ch 1, sc in first st, *ch 3, dc in each of the 3 dc, ch3, sc in middle of ch3 space from prior row, repeat from *, end with sc. I did not sl st to join.

Row 10: ch5 (counts as tr, ch 1), *dc at the end of the ch3, ch1, 3dctog in the 3dc’s, ch1, dc at end of ch3, ch2, repeat from *, end with ch1, tc in sc from prior row, sl st to join.

Row 11: ch3 (counts as dc), dc in first st, *ch 3, 3dc in 2 ch 2space, , repeat from *, end with 2dc (one in ch1 and other at the top of turning chain.

Row 12: ch1, sc in first st and all around sl st to join (26 stitches – one more than before) sl st to join.

Row 13: ch 1, sc in the next 3 st, chain 15, skip 7 st, sc in next 6 st, ch 15, skip 7 st, sc in next 3 st, sl st to join.

Row 14, ch 1, sc in next 3 st, 15 sc in the chain, sc in next 6 st, 15 sc in the chain, sc in next 3 st. sl st to join. Fasten off.

Here is the final product.

(I do admit that it looks a lot like the design and yarn from this post.)
