With the remaining ball of yarn that I had from the prior project, I wanted to make a scarf for either the baby’s mother or father. In case you had forgotten from the prior post, I am using Premier Yarns Sweet Roll in Gelato Pop , which alternates between white, blue and purple.
I started out by chaining 20
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc across turn (19 st).
Row 2: ch 3 (counts as dc), skip 1st st, *skip 2 st, (2dc, ch 1, 2dc) in next st, skip 2 st, dc in next st, repeat from * across, end with a dc, turn.
Row 3: ch 1, sc in each st across including the ch 1 spaces (19 st)
Row 4:ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in first st, skip 2 st, dc in the next st, *(2dc, ch 1, 2dc) in next st, skip 2 st, dc in next st, repeat from * across, end with a 3dc in the last st, turn.
Row 5: repeat row 3:
Repeat rows 2 through 5 until you reach the desired length. Try to end with Row 3 or Row 5.
I finished after the scarf was about 54 inches
SC along the sides and the bottom making sure there are 2 sc in the corners.
Add fringe to both ends.
Here is the final project.
